Fun in the sun

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

As the glorious weather continues, with the odd interruption, I have been making the most of the sunshine by spending as much time in the park as is humanly possible. I’ve jumped at every possible opportunity to spend time outside, top up my tan and bask in the general well-being which a bit of sunshine brings. (more…)

Military Fitness: Getting back in the saddle

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

I was having one of those days. Nothing was going right at work, I had consumed my body weight in biscuits, got stuck on the tube on the way home and argued with my boyfriend. Grrr…. Why was I feeling so rubbish? (more…)

Can FitFlops help take me from Crummy to Yummy Mummy?

Friday, October 15th, 2010

My baby girl, Baby H, is 14 weeks old today and while she is getting more adorable every day, unfortunately the same cannot be said about me.  I am getting more than a little fed up of only being able to fit into my “fat day jeans” and camouflaging my mummy tummy in huge baggy tops. (more…)

World cup fever

Monday, June 14th, 2010

What better time to write my first blog post than on the very day that England begin their World Cup campaign?

World Cup fever has well and truly set in and I’m bursting with excitement ahead of my friends aptly themed BBQ for our opening match vs USA tonight. My dad and I have travelled far and wide to watch England compete in major tournaments so I have cheekily pencilled, ‘’Fly to SA’’? in my diary on July 10th . For those who don’t know, allow me to explain that on July 11th 2010, I very much hope to be winding my way to Johannesburg to see Steven Gerrard lift the cup, after a spine tingling victory against Brazil in the semi!

I will spend the next few weeks poring over the back pages, wishing I had called to upgrade my Sky Plus package but secretly knowing that it’s better I haven’t otherwise I would be up all night trying to catch up on the goals. I also expect to receive a ‘Are you suffering from lack of motivation’ email from my gym as I opt for a kick-about in Regents Park instead of my customary spin class or swim, to keep fit this month…!
